can provide you with current information on immunizations in Stanislaus

Immunizations for children are required by state and federal agencies.
The following is information designed to help you understand what immunizations
are needed for your children. These are general guidelines. You should
check with your family physician for specific instructions on minimum
intervals between doses.
- Age 2 months: Polio (#1), Hep
B (#1), DTaP (#1), Hib (#1)
- Age 4 months: Polio (#2), HepB
(#2), DTap (#2), Hib (#2)
- Age 6 months: Hep B (#3), DTaP
(#3), Hib (#3)
- Age 12 months: Polio (#3), Varicella
(chickenpox), MMR (#1), Hib(#4)
- Age 15 months: DTaP
School Boosters: If your child is entering kindergarten, child care or
preschool, you must show proof of these immunizations:
- Kindergarten: your child needs
5 DTaP, 4 polio, 2 MMR (both of these must be after the 1st birthday)
and 3 hepatitis B shots. A chickenpox (varicella) shot is recommended
if your child has not already had chickenpox.
- At Child Care Entry (18 months and older):
Your child needs 3 hepatitis B, 4 DTP/DTaP, 3 polio, and 1 MMR and 1
Hib meningitis (both of these must be on or after the 1st birthday.
- At Child Care Entry (18 months and younger):
What immunizations are needed depends on your child's age. Check with
your child care provider or doctor.
Preteen Vaccines: Kids entering 7th
grade must show proof of: 3 Hep B shots and 2 MMR. A chickenpox (varicella)
shot is recommended if your child has not already had chickenpox. A Td
(tetanus and diphtheria) shot is recommended if your child has not had
a booster within the last five years.
