Immunization Clinic of Stanislaus County

 

The department provides childhood immunizations (including tuberculosis skin testing) for ages birth -- 18 years of age following the requirements and guidelines set forth by the CDC, ACIP and California school law. Flu shots are also routinely recommended for children of all ages.
Adult vaccines are available as desired or for school and job requirements. The public health department also provides post exposure prophylaxis for adults for diseases such as: chicken pox, measles, mumps, rubella, rabies and hepatitis A and B. Adults are offered flu and pneumonia shots as needed. Yearly, in the fall, flu clinics are conducted throughout the county.

Public health nurses provide up to date immunization information regarding children and adults with high-risk conditions, i.e. Cochlear implants, asplenia, HIV, other immune system deficiencies, and immunzations following the administration of blood products.

Travel consults by appointment with a registered nurse for adults and children are offered for international travelers to all parts of the world. Immunizations such as: yellow fever, meningococcal, typhoid - oral and inject able forms, Japanese encephalitis, rabies and more. This consult also provides appropriate antimalarial advice with a prescription and informational brochures.

The immunization department also serves as a resource of immunization information to physicians and other providers.

Target Population: Parents with in fants and children, Adults, International Travelers, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Physician’s Assistants, Adults changing Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Physician’s Assistants, Adults changing immigration status.
