MODESTO – Michael Carrera, the director of the Children's Aid Society of New York will be the featured speaker at a conference on youth taking place Tuesday and Wednesday.

"Lessons for Lifeguards" will feature Carrera's philosophy, organizational principles and the program components for his youth program that has been replicated throughout the United States.

The program will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday with a focus on program content and structure. Wednesday's program is open only to residents of Stanislaus County who are interested in learning about how the program can be applied in this community.
