Hoping to help prevent teen pregnancy in Stanislaus County, the Health
Services Agency is hosting several activities in recognition of Teen Pregnancy
Prevention Month.
Activities include a karaoke contest at Beyer Skate Park from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. Thursday.
Another karaoke contest will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday
at Mellis Park and a lunchtime rally will be between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Tuesday at Modesto High School.
Slides focusing on teen pregnancy prevention also will be shown at a
local movie theater.
In addition to these special events, the Health Services Agency operates
several programs year-around to address the issue. They include the Responsibility,
Education, Attitude and Leadership program, the Postponing Sexual Involvement
program, the Teen Outreach program and the Circulo de Hombres program.
