Two free workshops designed to enhance communication between mothers and daughters will take place next week in Modesto.

Sponsored by the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency, the workshops, titled "Heart to Heart," are designed for young women ages 13 to 17 and the adult women in their lives.

Topics will include how to discuss sensitive subjects, how to encourage abstinence and information about sexually transmitted diseases.

The workshops are set for Tuesday at the McHenry Medical Office, 2501 McHenry Ave., Suite E, and Feb. 15 at the King Kennedy Memorial Center, 601 N. Martin Luther King Drive. Both workshops will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with dinner provided.
