Students must have proper immunizations before they start school, and
the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency is offering to do free assessments
of children's records to see if the children are up to date.
To register for school, kindergartners must have: five DPT (diphtheria,
pertussis, tetanus) shots, four polio shots, three hepatitis B shots,
two MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) shots and one varicella shot (or
proof that the child has had chickenpox).
Seventh-graders need proof of two MMR, three hepatitis B and a Td (tetanus
and diphtheria) booster.
Parents may call 558-4818 for help over the telephone, or they may bring
immunization records to the Public Health Division, 820 Scenic Drive,
Modesto, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
