The Health Services Agency Foundation of Stanislaus County has scheduled its ninth annual String of Pearls Charity Gala on Oct. 15 at Sky Trek Aviation Center and the Modesto Airport. Organizers promise music, dancing, food and Monte Carlo-style gaming, with prizes awarded during the evening. For an extra $35, attendees can participate in a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament. Doors open and hors d'oeuvres will be served at 6 p.m., with dinner service and gaming beginning at 7 p.m. There will be continuous dancing throughout the evening to the music spun by Marquis Entertainment. The HSA Foundation is looking for $750 sponsors to underwrite the cost of the event. Proceeds will go to support health care efforts in Stanislaus County.
