Health Services Agency Background Information

 

The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA) has provided healthcare to the residents of Stanislaus County since 1891. The HSA operates under the leadership of the elected, five-member Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors.

Original Alms House constructed in 1891. This photo is circa 1908 Originally located in a two-story, Victorian wooden building called the Alms House, the Agency has grown into an outpatient medical system serving nearly 500,000 patients and clients each year.

The original building was replaced in 1951, but the mission of caring for those in need continues to this day.

The main campus for the HSA is located at 830 Scenic Drive in Modesto. Health services on the campus include:

Public Health Services Division - communicable diseases, outreach programs, immunization services, sexually transmitted disease testing (STDs), laboratory, PH Nursing, disease prevention, and birth & death certificates.

Pediatric Clinic

Urgent Care/After Hours Center - 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. weekdays, and 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Specialty Clinics - physician clinics with specialties including oncology, GI Lab, neurology, orthopedics, pain management, dermatology, ENT, general surgery, podiatry and urology.

California Children's Services - The goal of CCS is to locate California children who may need specialized medical care and encourage families with children with physical disabilities to obtain necessary medical services to maximize their children's potential.

Ancillary Services - Pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and wound care.

Other HSA services include medical offices at various locations throughout the county.
