| The
Symposium held at the King Kennedy Center on Saturday, February 2, was a
great success with over 200 people attending to discuss the health disparities
facing African American infants in Stanislaus County.
The topic of rap music and the effect of "Hip Hop' Culture on today's
youth, proved to be the key to attracting the ears of many of the communities
residents. Rappers like Yukmouth, Kuzzin Prece, Kraz and THC helped bring
valuable elements to the day’s event.
The Health Services Agency's Black Infant Health Task Force could not
have produced this successful event without the contribution of it's many
partners including Teen Life Challenge, the State MCAH Branch, City of
Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Services Department, and West
Modesto King Kennedy Collaborative.
It is through partnerships like these that the health of the community
can and will improve.
