  American Lung Association's Freedom from Smoking Classes

  Stanislaus County – The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency is working with several community partners to continue offering the American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking classes to help people who smoke learn the skills it takes to quit for good. Registration is FREE and is open to anyone who wants to quit smoking. The 8-session course will cover a variety of topics including stress management, assertive communication and exercise skills to help you succeed. Even if a person has had a difficult time in the past, this program offers additional tools to develop a quit-plan that works.

Registration is currently open for the following classes:

  • Tuesday evening course, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. beginning October 12. Coordinated by the Health Services Agency Tobacco Education Program and located in Modesto at 830 Scenic Drive in the Martin Conference Room.

  • Thursday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning November 2. Coordinated by the Sutter Gould Medical Foundation and located in Modesto at 1700 McHenry Avenue at the Health Education & Conference Center (on the east side of McHenry Village).
